HOLIDAY HAPPENNGS

 A MONTH AGO WE WERE ENJOYING A FEAST
With Abby home from Duke & Sam from Baltimore

                                  THANKSGIVING DAY WITH LAUREN & KELCY 
                                                          LARRY AND NANCY
       MICHELLE WITHOUT HOY (SERVING IN AFGHANISTAN) STOPPED BY...
THEN THREE WEEKS LATER....
ABBY FINISHED HER SEMESTER & ARRIVED HOME FOR A MONTH
IN TIME TO HELP US WITH OUR GENUINE ARTIFICIAL CHRISTMAS TREE...
                                         PLANKING---TEBOWING--OWLING.....
                                       WE KNOW HOW TO DECK THE HALLS...
                              THROW IN A LITTLE YOGA FOR THE HOLIDAYS...


                                 THEN IT IS TIME FOR A WALK IN THE WOODS...

                                                        BECKY'S FAVORITE HABITAT...
        SANTA VISITED THE NEIGHBORHOOD A COUPLE NIGHTS EARLY...
                         PROBABLY CHECKING OUT HIS DELIVERY ROUTES.

                            SOUP KITCHEN TIME ...ALWAYS A BLESSING ...
       THE FLOWER HILL BAND ENTERTAINED THE GUESTS & SERVERS...
                                                      MY CHILDREN LOVE THE FOOD!!!
    CHRISTMAS EVE AT HAMMANN'S--A FUN TRADITION!!!




                                     THEN IT'S HOME TO HANG UP THE STOCKINGS

                       TODAY WE CELEBRATE CHRIST"S BIRTH WITH PRESENTS

                                                             MORE FEASTING...
                          MIM SEEMS PUZZLED, BUT SHE"S REALLY NOT.
                   CHEESECAKE & RAZZLEBERRY PIE FINISHES OFF THE DAY...
                SO SWEET TO SHARE THIS DAY WITH MIM, CHRIS AND BUNNY!!

North Carolina

With Jim out of town and a day off from school, Becky and I hit the road...
A short trip to see the Abs in her new environment at grad school...
Hello DUKE!!! 
Her apartment is now an old tobacco/cigarette factory
What is she doing??
OH, I see....she is   TEEBOWING    not far from her apartment building...
Where trucks once hauled that stuff away---she now gets her mail.

The hallways are long and the ceilings are high!
Becky couldn't stand the metal stairways...

Between the aparment buildings is a lovely sitting spot...

A favorite Saturday morning activity and a fun place to run into her friends...


Before I headed out of town, we had to see the BIG Occupy Duke protest...
We counted 3 tents...pretty intimidating...
A wonderful 20 hours with my daughter on a gorgeous fall weekend.

Museums and Cheesecake

It was actually snowing two Saturday ago...no golf!!
So I convinced Jim to take a field trip with me...
We had a good time and saw some great exhibits...
 The Berlin Wall...
 The broadcasting antenna 
from the top of the World Trade Towers
 This was a great exhibit, but...
when we asked a lady to take our picture next to it....
We figured we shouldn't smile...
Perhaps our somberness was a little over the top....  
You get the picture??
 A highlight for me was meeting "Nelly Bly" in person...
even though she's been dead many years.
THAT'S ALL FROM THE NATION'S CAPITAL...
.STAY TUNED FOR MORE FURNISH NEWS...

The next day we headed for Baltimore 
to celebrate Lauren's birthday at the Inner Harbor...



 Say CHEESEcake!!!
 Then it's a view of the city from the top of Sam's roof....

 We could hear the fans from the Raven's stadium...
A GREAT DAY!!!
