North Carolina

With Jim out of town and a day off from school, Becky and I hit the road...
A short trip to see the Abs in her new environment at grad school...
Hello DUKE!!!
Her apartment is now an old tobacco/cigarette factory
What is she doing??
OH, I see....she is   TEEBOWING    not far from her apartment building...
Where trucks once hauled that stuff away---she now gets her mail.

The hallways are long and the ceilings are high!
Becky couldn't stand the metal stairways...

Between the aparment buildings is a lovely sitting spot...

A favorite Saturday morning activity and a fun place to run into her friends...

Before I headed out of town, we had to see the BIG Occupy Duke protest...
We counted 3 tents...pretty intimidating...
A wonderful 20 hours with my daughter on a gorgeous fall weekend.

Museums and Cheesecake

It was actually snowing two Saturday ago...no golf!!
So I convinced Jim to take a field trip with me...
We had a good time and saw some great exhibits...
 The Berlin Wall...
 The broadcasting antenna
from the top of the World Trade Towers
This was a great exhibit, but...
when we asked a lady to take our picture next to it....
We figured we shouldn't smile...
Perhaps our somberness was a little over the top....
You get the picture??
A highlight for me was meeting "Nelly Bly" in person...
even though she's been dead many years.
THAT'S ALL FROM THE NATION'S CAPITAL...
.STAY TUNED FOR MORE FURNISH NEWS...

The next day we headed for Baltimore
to celebrate Lauren's birthday at the Inner Harbor...

 Say CHEESEcake!!!
Then it's a view of the city from the top of Sam's roof....

We could hear the fans from the Raven's stadium...
A GREAT DAY!!!
