Last weekend I traveled down to North Carolina's Crystal Coast
I tried out many of their restaurants....

And had a lot of great seafood...
and even a sinful Mud-pie Dessert
I went to a great "surfer" church...
called One Harbor church in Morehead City
Afterwards I visited historic Ft. Macon
Someone I'm related to...
volunteers at the Visitor Center Desk on Sundays
Once a Civil War Encampment...
It also saw use during WWII
After a great tour of the fort
I visited Duke University's Marine Lab
near historic Beaufort
where someone I know works & goes to school.
I was able to stay in this nice house
just a short walk to the beach...
After 3 days of rain, I finally got some sun...
One morning I went on Turtle Patrol
Looking for any signs of a nest during the night. We found tracks---but not turtle tracks...
some jellyfish
a dead fish or two...
But No Turtle nests...
THE BIGGEST SHOCK OF MY TRIP
was to learn that in this land
of tattoos and tobacco trucks...
wind and surf...
pine bits being sent to Turkey for particle board..
I had found myself in a
HOT BED OF RADICAL
ENVIRONMENTAL ACTIVITY!!
YES!!
HERE'S PROOF:
Read the article and see if you
recognize any of those crazy people....
