SUNSET BEACH

6 a.m. Saturday July 31---
we leave Washington D.C. behind for awhile...

Only a few hours earlier we had picked up our Abby...
who flew in from Panama to share our family vacation... Becky was about to experience her
first sand & surf adventure!!!

SUNSET BEACH, NORTH CAROLINA--
HERE WE COME!!!!

We didn't complete any jigsaw puzzles this year...
but we enjoyed each other
Cuddled babies...
& set up a Princess Tent in the living room...

One afternoon Sara, Abby & I went to Calabash... ON A MISSION FROM GOD... Oh, well---the god of our stomachs... Oh, we are glad we did.... Recipe for Sunset Beach Shrimp: 3 lbs unpeeled shrimp 1 16 oz jar of Italian dressing 1 1/2 T ground pepper, 2 cloves of crushed garlic Mix the above together in a 13x9 pan Squeeze 2 lemons over the shrimp--then quarter the rinds and throw them in the pan too. Sprinkle with parsley and 1/2 cup of butter sliced Bake for 25 minutes at 375 degrees---stirring occasionally. ENJOY!!!

Many nights Jim turned either our beach house...or the Jones' beach house ... into Margarita ville.... And a good time.... was had... by all....

One morning walk on the beach...

with Becky... resulted in a stand-off between her and a crab!!! We had lots of fun whether... Relaxing on the SAND... OR frolicking in the SURF Jim's Professional Body Surfing Lessons...free of charge!!! Whoa...who is this man with a boogie board?? He didn't think he would get caught on camera... doing it the Sissy Way...Ah Ha!!!

TURTLE WATCH!!!

Despite valiant efforts co-operating with the Turtle Patrol Spending Time with Mr. Turtle Doing the Oogie Woogie Turtle Dance And even getting 2 Turtle tattoos... Make that FOUR Turtle Tattoos... Digging up a turtle nest... We never got to see any baby turtles hatch....

Christie added some cardio to her run...

Verena rocked the beach style
with her sun protective swim shirt...

And liked to give Sara some beach hugs...

Uncle Sam & Aunt Abby got some baby cuddling too...

I'm still the most prolific photographer...despite Sara's feable attempts... Sweet fellowship...

With special friends... Beach memories... will never end!!! Good-bye Sunset Beach, North Carolina
