The Great Papa and Nana Adventure Part 1

Grace and Ethan made their first non-parent flight
flew into Baltimore Tuesday night.
They arrived tired but ready for their great adventure...
But first they had to spend the day at school with Nana
Then watch Papa's soccer team
win the quarterfinal game...

can you see a very blurry Ethan
retrieving balls on the side-line??

Then it was on to Williamsburg and a dip in the hotel pool
Breakfast this morning with a TV in every booth...
Before entering the 18th Century...spinning
modeling tri-corner hats
shopping for school supplies
hanging out with Papa
Watching Nana selected to help the magistrate
in the court house---where she heard cases...

such as that of a man who didn't attend church!!
Papa thinks she looks like she is on trial...
But guess who got locked up anyway???
So many things to buy for the garden---
This is a great picture by Grace
Who needs a tri-corner hat, huh??
Of course, George Washington is a personal friend....
And Thomas Jefferson shared much wisdom with us...
And the peanut soup at the Kings Tavern cannot be beat.
Ethan turned down a job offer from this gentleman...
Toilets in the colonial days were certainly different...
But ladies could dress so fancy...
We sure walked a lot...Nana's pedometer knows for sure.
Dining at the Governor's Palace may have been lovely...
But we preferred the Olive Garden---
Ethan insisted on macaroni and cheese ...!!
We completed our day at the Under Armor outlet..
.
for some new duds. More later...
